Measured, with permission
I build measurement and consent for a living, so this site shows its working. Here is exactly what it collects, when and why.
What this site does and does not do
- Google Analytics 4 measures visits. Its cookies are set only if you allow them.
- No advertising, no remarketing and no Google signals, so no cross-site profiles.
- GA4 does not log or store IP addresses. Event data is kept for 14 months.
- No forms, so no names or email addresses are collected.
- Client names never appear in page titles or events.
Google Consent Mode v2, advanced setup
- 1
Before anything loads
Consent Mode v2 sets analytics, ad storage, ad user data and ad personalisation to denied.
- 2
You choose
Allow and decline are the same size. Global Privacy Control counts as a no.
- 3
If you say no
GA4 receives cookieless pings with no identifiers, which Google uses only for modelled totals.
- 4
If you say yes
GA4 sets
_gacookies for 13 months. Advertising signals stay denied. - 5
Change your mind
Withdrawing consent deletes the
_gacookies straight away.

Every event, and the question it answers
GA4 enhanced measurement also records outbound clicks and file downloads. Each event below carries the page context: page type, plus practice area and sector on case studies.

|---|---|---|---|
page_view | Every page load (GA4 automatic) | page_type, content_group, practice_area, sector | Which pages and practice areas draw readers |
cv_download Key event | Any CV (PDF) link is clicked | link_location | Whether the CV gets into hiring hands, and from where |
contact_click Key event | A LinkedIn link is clicked | method, link_location | Conversations started, the outcome that matters most |

scroll_depth | 25%, 50%, 75% and 100% of a page is reached | percent_scrolled | Where long pages lose people |
theme_change | The light or dark toggle is used | theme (also the preferred_theme user property) | Whether the light theme earns its keep |
